COVID-19 Protocol & WAIVER
Updated as of 7/13
It is our heightened focus to have the health and safety of our attendees, sponsors, speakers, and everyone involved as a top priority. We have outlined the following guidelines in preparation for your arrival and attendance at the homecoming event, and we hope that you will partner with us and ensure safety as a top priority for all. Below are the specific measures we have outlined and will implement to keep us all safe during the homecoming activities. We will continuously monitor the latest on the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak as reported by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Pre-Arrival
-
Each attendee, speaker, and sponsor must sign the COVID-19 Liability and Assumption of Risk waiver prior to attending the event. This can be found in the Attendee Questionnaire that is sent right after you register through Eventbrite.
Registration
-
We will require all attendees to show proof of vaccination upon arrival and check-in. Vaccination must be complete with booster where eligible.
-
If you cannot show proof of vaccination, attendees will need to provide documentation of a NEGATIVE PCR Test Result taken no more than 72 hours prior to attendance.
Symptomatic Attendees & Positive Tests
-
We will have a limited number of Antigen Covid tests on site for any attendee experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who has not furnished the items requested above.
-
If you experience COVID-like symptoms at any point during the events, you will be expected to take the following steps:
-
Take a second self-administered at home COVID-19 Antigen rapid test.
-
If you test positive, immediately notify NUF staff: Sesoo Igbazua (Sr. Director Finance & Operations at sigabazua@nuf.org , +1202-215-5868). NUF staff will provide instructions on where to take a confirmatory PCR test.
-
Isolate yourself in your hotel room and/or other designated area as directed by NUF staff until return travel arrangements are made.
-
-
NUF will not be responsible for accommodations or other quarantining/Isolation related costs.
General Precautions
-
We will be observing social distancing where possible and minimize physical contact during social interactions.
-
We will provide all attendants with a choice of bracelets to indicate their comfort level with physical interactions.
-
NUF will observe the latest directives on masking issued by the government of the District of Columbia. Thus, though not required, masks are recommended for all in-door activities during the weekend. Please use your discretion based on your comfort level.
-
All vendors are required to be vaccinated. The Conference Organizer will verbally review safety procedures and contingency plans with all Vendors and Event Sponsors that will be on-site.
-
Sanitizing Wipes/Liquid will be onsite for usage.
-
For more information on how to stay safe during this period, and keep up with the latest government measures, please refer to Washington DC’s COVID-19 Health Guidance Site and www.cdc.gov.
